Hammamet 15/07/2025
At La Badira, sustainability is at the heart of our priorities.
very day, we take action to reduce the impact of our activities on the environment, preserve natural resources, and contribute positively to our community.
Our Environmental Commitments
As part of our strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect biodiversity, we are committed to:
- Reducing our energy, water, and waste-related emissions by 20% by the end of 2030.
- Preserving local biodiversity by working with environmental associations and strengthening our practices to respect the coastal and marine ecosystem.
In the past 12 months, we have achieved:
-A 23% reduction in energy consumption
-A 12% reduction in water consumption
-A 15% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions per overnight stay compared to the previous year
We are also proud of our project “Towards a Zero Single-Use Plastic Hotel”, carried out in partnership with the BeMed business network, which led to a 6% reduction in single-use plastics over the past year.
Our goal is to achieve an additional 10% reduction in single-use plastic by 2030.
Aware that the road ahead is still long, starting in 2026 we will implement new initiatives across all our operations to meet these ambitious goals.
We warmly invite our guests, teams, and visitors to join us in this journey by following the guidelines displayed throughout the hotel regarding water and energy savings as well as waste management.
Our Social Commitments
At La Badira, respect and protection of human rights are at the core of our values:
- We ensure that every individual is treated fairly and respectfully.
- We provide regular training to our teams on preventing all forms of discrimination.
- We enforce a strict child protection policy against all forms of exploitation, including sexual exploitation, and prohibit child labor except within approved professional training programs.
- We guarantee continuous training and upskilling for our employees, with a target of 80% achievement of departmental skill goals.
- We strive to enhance employee satisfaction, with an overall target set at 80%.
Supporting Our Community
- We actively collaborate with local organizations and civil society to contribute to initiatives that benefit our community.
- We continue to support SOS Children’s Villages, with a donation box available at the reception for contributions.
-Starting in 2026, we plan to support a new community project—such as allocating revenue from recycling and waste sales to a local association.
We encourage all our employees to embrace this charter and contribute actively to achieving our goals.
We also require our external partners to uphold their own sustainability commitments.
Finally, we thank our valued guests for their support in this shared mission, enabling us to move forward together toward a more responsible and united future.
